Reconstituting semaglutide (for research)

Step-by-step guide to preparing semaglutide

Follow our straightforward guide to ensure you handle and mix semaglutide correctly.

Here’s everything you need to know:

  1. Clean your hands – Start with clean hands to prevent contamination.
  2. Collect all materials – Ensure you have the semaglutide vial, a vial of bacteriostatic water, a syringe with a needle, alcohol wipes, and a sharps container.
  3. Preparation steps:
    • Remove caps from both vials.
    • Clean the tops of the vials using an alcohol wipe.
    • Attach the needle to the syringe, ensuring it doesn’t touch any surfaces.
    • Draw bacteriostatic water by inverting the water vial and inserting the needle through the rubber cap, pulling the plunger to the 1 ml mark.
    • Inject the bacteriostatic water into the semaglutide powder vial.
    • Gently swirl the vial to mix—avoid vigorous shaking.

Frequently Asked Question

Semaglutide should be stored in a refrigerator at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C). It must not be frozen or exposed to extreme temperatures.

Always label each vial with the solution concentration, date of reconstitution, and the initials of the person who prepared it for traceability.
